2023 Lokoja/Kogi Fed. Const.: Hon. Saidu Akawu Salihu assures of effective representation if elected

Hon. Saidu Akawu Salihu, frontline All Progressives Congress House of Representatives Aspirant for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency has assurred Party delegates in Lokoja LGA that they should expect effective representation if he is elected as he will speak the minds of the people and stand up for their interest.

Hon. Saidu made the disclosure during his consultative visit to Lokoja LGA to solicit the support of the Party’s delegates ahead of the primaries, said he is fully prepared to offer quality represention to the people, urged the delegates to determine his Political future and not be swayed by unverified information of a consensus candidate.

Hon. Saidu described the delegates as the representative of the people, urged them to do the needful, by standing firm and Principled, asked them not to be violent and rude in exercising their franchise, assuring that they will not regret their decision if he is elected.

While pointing out that the bond of cooperation existing between the people of Lokoja and Kogi LGA over the years must not be allowed to be breached, urged the delegates to allow the convention and understanding existing between the two areas that make up the federal Constituency to allow the next House of Representatives Member come from Kogi LGA.

The former House of Assembly Member and Commissioner, said his track records in creating Peoples Participation in budgeting and as an active lawmaker when he served, by speaking fearlessly to authority’ amongst other achievements, he maintained has equipped and prepared him to serve the people of the Federal Constituency.

The Aspirant cautioned against fielding an unpopular candidate against the opposition in the forthcoming General election, says it is an uncomfortable risk to gamble with and to impose a candidate that would be difficult to deliver for the APC.

Hon. Saidu warned the APC against submitting itself to a cheap victory of the opposition, says he is ready for the Party’s primaries promising to accept the verdict of the delegates if it doesn’t favour him.

While acknowledging that power belongs to God and that getting power is in the hands of God, the Aspirant prayed God to put his love in the heart of the delegates in choosing him to offer quality represention for the Federal Constituency.

Hon. Saidu promised not to betray the trust that would be reposed on him by the delegates, promised that if he is elected, he has a track record of performance, integrity, said he is an advocate and believer in Politics of conviction and doing what is right.

Hon. Saidu recalled with nostalgia how in 2014 even as a member of the PDP, looked at the then Governor, said time is up, pointing out that he was amongst the four lawmakers who left the PDP because change was envisaged with President Mohammadu Buhari.

He described himself as a foundation Member of the APC in the State, says he joined forces and worked tirelessly with the late Prince Abubakar Audu to wrestle power from the PDP until his unfortunate and sudden demise, insisting that he has paid his dues of service and loyalty, appealed for the delegates to look in his direction for better represention.

The former Deputy Director General, Late Prince Abubakar Audu Campaign Organization, said having joined forces with Gov. Yahaya Bello, after the demise of Late Prince Abubakar Audu, added that he helped in bringing several persons on board the administration, maintaining that he has paid his dues to the party service and contributions as well as in total loyalty to the leadership of Gov. Yahaya Bello, urged the delegates to look in his direction in their choice of a candidate that would enable the APC coast home to victory in the forthcoming coming general election.
