A top contender for Lokoja 1 state Constituency in 2023 election on the platform of All Progressive Congress, (APC) Hon. Adam Bakaso Dan Fulani,a.k.a Quincy, have withdrawn from the race to back the special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Water Resources,Hon. Tijjani Bin-Ebaiya Shehu.
This was contained in a letter sent to THEANALYSTNG signed by Quincy on Friday in Lokoja .
He stated that he agreed to support Shehu’s aspirations due to what he ascribed to the need to present a common front and ensure harmony and progress of Lokoja 1 Constituency.
“My Withdrawal from the race and endorsement of Bin-Ebaiya Shehu is in the overall interest of Lokoja 1 Constituency,APC and allow him merge as our great party flag bearer in 2023 election without conflict.
”I have to step back and allow Bin-Ebaiya to take on the task of representing our Constituency at this time, for some reasons that seriously have to do with the larger interest of our dear state and our great party” Quincy said.
Part of the letter reads: “My t decision to endorse Bin-Ebaiya Shehu, is borne out of the spirit of Comradeship and respect for the leadership of our great party, APC.I wish to use this opportunity to thank His Exellency, Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello (Presidential hopeful) and his Chief of Staff, Pharm Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku, for all the opportunity giving me to serve under his leadership.I also wish to thank and appreciate my friends, supporters and well-wishers for the overwhelming support I enjoyed from them when I signified my intentions to represent them.
Most importantly to pledge my unalloyed loyalty to the party and also promise to do all within my power to ensure the victory for the APC,at the state, Local Goverment and the country at large.
In conclusion,”I want to use this medium to call on all my supporters and well wishes to extend similarly support for Hon. Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani ” the letter concluded
An chieftain of APC in from Lokoja who doesn’t want his name on print, described the decision of Quincy to support Shehu’s aspirations as “a wise one and commendable.
According to him,Lokoja 1 Constituency need people like Shehu in the political terrain stressing that shehu is a candidate that will change the perspective of people about an average politician.
“At this time, this is the quality we need in politics to make much-needed change in our political system in Lokoja and the state. This is the time we need people with integrity to go into Law making and change the erroneous perspective of the people.When it comes to integrity, Bin-Ebaiya is naturally of records”he said
He commended Quincy for taken a wise decision for the interest of Lokoja, which blockade some Desperate Politicians from the area.
