A former Director in the Nigerian Army Legal Services, Colonel (Barr) Samuel Abayomi Dare (ret), who is also the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the International Masters Security System Ltd will receive the Institute Regional Supper Des Beaucarte De La Culture et Dela Communication, (ISBACCOM University) honorary doctorate award on April 9, 2022 in Lagos. According to the Institution, Col. Dare has proved himself worthy in experience with ardent love for the creation of peace, security and conflict resolution, as well as his devotion to teaching and knowledge dissemination for the betterment of the society.

According to the University, both the induction/convocation will hold on 9th April, 2022 at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Meanwhile, Afrikanwatch Network has congratulated Col. Dare retd, hailing the University for finding the retired colonel worthy for such academic elevation . In congratulatory message by the News outfit, it described Col. Dare retd, as a man who has demonstrated very high level of competence in knowledge and wisdom as regard to security issues and nation building.

Yomi as he is popularly called was born in Maiduguri, Bornu State. For his elementary education, he attended St Georges Primary School, Zaria, St Georges School Falomo, lagos and Holy Trinity Transferred School Lokoja, between 1966 and 1972. For his secondary education, he attended Ijumu Anglican Secondary School. Iyara, Government Secondary School. Koton-Karfe, Crowther Memorial College Lokoja, between 1972 and 1977.

He started his military career in 1979 after gaining admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of the 26th Regular Combatant course. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1982.

The renowned barrister is a holder of Nigerian Defence Academy Certificate of Education, Bachelor of Law, Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy and Masters in Strategic Studies from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and University of Ibadan, respectively.

He is also an Alumnus of the Defence Institute of International Legal Studies, Newport, Rhode Island, USA, where he studied legal Aspects of combating Terrorism, Military Law development Programme and Peace Keeping in accordance with the Rule of Law.

He once Serviced in the Elite Military Police Corps, Commanded a Multi- National Military Police Force in Rwanda and was in charge of internal Security immediately after the genocide in 1995.

Yomi Served in the Nigerian Contingent in ECOMOG before he was elevated to the position of Director of Army Legal Services. During the course of his Military Career, he had the privilege of holding several appointments and also served in various locations both within and outside Nigeria.

Yomi is an ardent believer and fighter for Equity, Justice and Rule of Law. He detests corruption and injustice in all its ramifications. He has to credit, published and unpublished works. He served in Nigerian Army for a period of 36years, 5months and 19days, from 28th June 1979 to 16th December 2015. He was awarded certificate of Military service in recognition of a meritorious service to Nigeria.

Yomi is a well decorated officer and a gentleman. His Decorations includes – Forces Service Star [FSS], Meritorious Service Star [MSS], Distinguished Service Star [DSS], Silver Jubilee Medal [SJM], Golden jubilee Medal [GJM], Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group [ECOMOG] United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda medal, Passed Staff College [PSC], and fellow of the National War College [FWC].
