Ohimege-Igu of Koton-Karfe Confers With Grand Patron of Muslim Media Practitioners of Ningeria (MMPN), Kogi Branch

Kogi State Chapter of Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) has conferred on His Royal Majesty, the Ohimegye-Igu of Koton-Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Isah Koton with the Grand Patron of the MMPN.

This was made known by the
State Coordinator of the association, Yabagi Mohammed,during a familiration visit to the Royal father on Friday 11th, February 2022 at his palace

Yabagi said they were in the palace to intimate the monarch on the activities of the association and thanked him for the reception accorded his member despite the short notice.

He commeded the ohimege for maintaining peaceful co-existance in his domain stressing further that the traditional ruler had shown his love for the body as a member because of his stint with journalism in his active days.

He described the traditional Ruler as an exemplary leader in the way he is piloting the affairs of Igu kingdom.

The Coordinator prayed to Almighty Allah for peace, prosperity, unity and development in Igu Kingdom under the reign of HRM, Alhaji Abdulrazak, adding that the association would continue to partner with him for their growth

Responding, the Ohimege Igu expressed gratitude to the body for the honour done to him and said he felt part of the association in view of his experience as a journalism trainee, but was not destined to be a practicing journalist.

He promised to contribute his quota for the growth of the Association and expressed his gratitude for the honor done to him by conferring on him the Grand Patron of the Assocation.

The royal father advised members to be steadfast in the practice of information dissemination, while enjoining them to ensure objectivity, balance and community reporting.
