Tribute To Khadimul Qur’an; Mujahid Haliru Inuwa

Simplicity, Patience, Compassion,Community Service and Philanthropy,these are all attributes associated with late Ustaz Haliru Inuwa,a.k.a Mujahid and Khadimul-Qur’an, who died on Wednesday 15th of December,2021 in Zaria Kaduna state,as a result of injuries he sustained following an accident involving he bonded motorcycle and a car.

According to the family source,late Mujahid was on his way to Lokoja from Kano and decided to stop over at Zaria, to receive a message, he bonded an okada to take him to his destination,,the motorcycle he bonded was said to have hit by a car, Mujahid according to the source felt down unconscious, and was rushed to Shika Hospital Zaria, where he was admitted,he remains in a state of coma for 5days .

He sadly passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 15th of December 2021, .

His Remains,which was conveyed to Lokoja, arrived same day at about 5; 15 pm, where his brother and bosom friend, Alaranma Jibril Dada’u led late Mujahid’s funeral prayers .Hundreds of muslim accompanied his Remains to his final abode ,Unguwan kura Muslim cementary Lokoja, Kogi state.

Many people in Lokoja and beyond spoke highly of late Haliru’s impeccable character. Late Mujahid is extremely humble, If you are meeting him for the first time you are likely not to believe that he is the one you are meeting, so simple that he welcome poor,adult,rich,old ,youth children, especially orphans. He is not the type that shut his doors against his people.

He was known as Khadimul- Qur’an:someone who dedicated his life as a guardian to quranic memorizers (Hafizis/Hazifas) until his demise, Khadimul-Qur’an Mujahid was a major link to many Islamic schools in Kano, where pupils memorizes the entire holy Qur’an (Hafizi or Hafiza),as at last count ,over fifty students graduated through his efforts, including his senior son,Ammar Inuwa Haliru, who is scheduled to represent Kogi state at this year quranic competition coming up on Sunday,18th December,2021 in Koton-Karfe in kogi Local Goverment Area.

A man of modest taste and superb family life, he maintained excellent relationship amongst his two wives,and their children. Mujahid also adopted several others as his children, and connected them to great opportunities in life, through Qur’anic and Western education. He generously poured out his life into others, in his unrelenting bid to ensure that his ‘children’ attained success in life.

Alhaji Haliru Inuwa Mujahid is widely acknowledged,as we all witnessed during his funeral ,where hundreds of people waited for hours awaiting the arrival of his Remains from Zaria.

He will be remembered as a perfect gentleman, a giant in the quiet philanthropist, noble, high esteem and a God-fearing Muslim, who believed that the best way to serve God is to enrich the lives of fellow human beings.

On Sunday, the 15th day of December, 2021 Alhaji Haliru Inuwa Mujahid and Khadimul-Qur’an breathed his last at the age of 51 years.There erupted cries, wailing, sobbing and latter voices of glory and thanksgiving for a great man that had passed in our humble and highly revered Islamic community.

For late Haliru, he lived a life well accomplished worthy of emulation not only Lokoja Local Government Area, Kogi State, but the whole country and beyond. He was able to carve a niche for himself in his service to Islam and humanity.

May Allah reward him with Janatur’firdaus, forgive him all his shortcomings, grant the families, friends and Muslim ummah the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable lost ameen.
