As muslims all over the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammed,the Maigari of Lokoja,HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111, have called for more understanding, unity and love among the people of Lokoja Emirate Council to move the Emirate and the state forward.
Maigari who was represented by the Waziri Of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdulrahman Idris Baba Kurum made the appealed on Monday at Lokoja Muslim Ummah annual Maulid to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The monarch urged Muslims to use the opportunity of Prophet birthday to reflect on the teachings of the Prophet, who lived a life of piety, Peace ,Unity , service to God and humanity.
He also appealed to the adherents of the Islamic faith “to rededicate themselves to upholding the injunctions of the Holy Quran in their personal life and in their relationships with others.”
Chief Imam of Lokoja,Sheikh Aminu Sha’aban,urged Muslims to continue to pray for peace and stability in Lokoja ,state and the country at large
He admonished youths to shun cultism and other vices “Islam is against this devilish act and perpetrators of such an act cannot be called Muslims,” he added.
An Islamic scholar Malam Tanko Tale,in a goodwill message to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, said just like the birth of the Holy Prophet in Mecca ushered in a new dawn for humanity, Lokojans and Kogites in general should view the occasion of this year’s Maulud Nabiyyi as an opportunity for a new beginning by maintaining peace among adherents of other religion
He urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to further seek the mercy and protection of Allah for all Lokojans, state and Nigeria at large .
In his own remarks Chairman of the occasion,who was represented by member representing Lokoja 1 constituency, Hon. Isah Tanimu Umar,said Muslim Ummah have every cause to celebrate and thanks Allah for the opportunity of the life and the privilege of survival, stressing that Muslim must intensify prayers for the unity and peace in the state and the country at large.
He commended the Maigari of Lokoja , Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi who he described as peace maker.
In his on good will messege, Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Goverment,Hon. Danasabe Muhammed Danasabe,who was represented by the Lokoja Local Goverment APC Chairman,Hon. Maikudi Bature, congratulated Muslim on the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
He appealed to the Muslims to emulate the virtues of the prophet.
“we must emulate the virtues of the holy prophet which include,peace,unity and love Where there’s no peace, there’ll be no development” he said
The council boss commended the organisers and promised to partner with all religion organisations in the area.
Highlights of the occasion include: lectures with the theme: “Sunnah of Holy Prophet,Child upbringing and it’s importance in Islam, by Ustaz Abdulrahman Tunduwa and Ustaz Aminu Musa Maiyaki respectively.
