Senator Smart Adeyemi has assured the people of Kogi west senatorial district of his commitments to provide more dividends of Democracy.
Adeyemi, who represent Kogi west at the Senate gave the assurances in a remarks at the 27th Iyara day celebration which took place on Saturday at Iyara.
The lawmaker who commended the organisers of the events called on the people of the area to support the present APC administration under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, adding that loyalty to the leadership at all levels bring development nearer to the people.
He described APC as one United family” all those that were elected at the party congresses are loyal to the the leadership of the party in the state,when I joined APC i never believe I will go back to Senate,today we are there to serve our people and that’s what is expected of all those elected or appointed” he said.
Adeyemi who announced the donation of 30 computer desktops and ₦5m, however explained that the donation of ₦5m was made through him by friends and corporate organisations to Iyara Development Movement.
He announced that Motorists plying the Obajana-Kabba-Ilorin highway will soon heave a sigh of relief as the Federal Government has concluded plans for the reconstruction of the road.
According to the lawmaker, the minister still confirmed that all issues that have to do with the road have been completed by the Works Ministry.
Earlier in his remarks, National president of Iyara Development Movement,Alhaji Aliyu Badaki,commended the lawmaker and described him as a patriotic son of Iyara whose vision is to cater for the welfare of the people of the area and the state at large.
He disclosed that the 2021 edition of Iyara day and cultural carnival has been specifically organised to launch ₦100 million Education Development Fund for the purpose of reconstruction ,repairs and equipping of facilities in educational institutions in the area.The Iyara day is an annual event which begins in 1992.
