The Chief Imam of Dantata Memorial Masjid Abuja,Khalifa Muhammad Abdullahi Suru has called on Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad for peace and progress the the countey
Imam Suru gave the advice in a lecture he delivered at the 12th annual Maulud organised by Dr Rajab Naibi on Sunday in Lokoja.
He said the Holy prophet exercised patience , dedication and perseverance as well as love all human being irrespective of color or race.
He appealed to Muslim ummah to sustain their religious obligations and spiritual undertaking, adding that such endevour would go a long way in shaping the destiny of Muslims and the country at large
The cleric also identified good neighbourliness, protection of rights and respect for people’s religious sensibilities as factors to peaceful coexistence and harmonious living.
In his on remarks the Dan Madani of Kano,Alhaji Ibrahim Hamza Bayero advised Muslims to preach peace and give peace a chance so that Nigeria would be a conducive place for all.
Bayero admonished Muslims to accommodate other religions adhirants and eschew religious deferences and live together in peace.
He commended Dr Naibi for organizing the annual Maulud Nabiyi in commeration of the birth of prophet Muhammad.
Speaking with Newsmen shortly after the event,Dr Rajab Naibi Who holds the traditional title of Dan Maje of Lokoja and Wazirin Hasken Nupe,enjoined Muslims to make their impact felt in the society and be in the vanguard of peace and good conducts as preach by the holy prophet.
He thanked the organising committee and the entire Muslim who attended the event.
” I want use this medium to thanked the Etsu Nupe ,the Onu of Dekina and acting Attah of Igala,the Dan Madami of Kano and those that attended today’s event,may Allah reward you all” he pray.
This year’s Maulud witnessed the presence of chief Imam of Lokoja,Sheikh Aminu Sha’aban, Imam of Mansaba Juma’a mosque Bida,Imam Jimada Shafi’i, Alh. Muhammadu Maishira,Shaba Giri Hakimi Daban who represented the Etsu Nupe,the Onu of Dekina and acting Attah Igala, Islamic Clerics in and outside the state to mentioned but few.
