‘#EndInsecurityNow protest: Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG),Holds Peaceful Protest In Kogi .

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), on Thursday held a peaceful protest against rising insecurity in the region.

Youths carrying placards matched along Lugard road to NTA junction were protesting against insecurity,Rape,kinapping and others vices which they said crippled the economy of the region.

Spokesman of the group,Comrade Idris Yakubu, while speaking with journalists said the ineptitude and an apparent failure of elected and appointed leaders from the North to either protect the lives and property of northerners or address the myriad distresses the region faced had pushed them to the wall.

They called on the president and all elected leaders from the north to rise up to their responsibilities.

According to them, the proliferation of crime, especially Rape, insecurity, unemployment and kidnapping,has made the region a laughing stock.

Yakubu who vowed that the ‘#EndInsecurityNow protest’ will continue until their demands are met,commended the progression of the Nigerian’s action that climaxes with government’s swift response to the concerns raised with the scrapping of SARS.

He explained further that part of their demands include, mounting pressure on leaders to show real commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens and ending the prolong closure of universities among others.
