Maigari Of Lokoja Restates Commitment To Peace, Bags LINPB Award

The Paramount Ruler of Lokoja, Dr. Muhammadu  Kabir Maikarfi 111 oon, has said that the peaceful co-existence of Lokoja people and agitation for better deal has become part of him, despite the challenges.

Dr. Kabir stated this after being presented with Merit Award of by the Lokoja Indigenous Newspaper Publishers and Bloggers,  (LINPB)  for his commitment and dedication to the development of Lokoja.

The revered monarch who has been a leading light, championing peace, youth empowerments and development advocacy was presented the award by the NUJ chairman, Comrade Momoh-Jimoh Adeiza at his palace on Tuesday.

Adeiza who was represented by the NUJ Secretary, Alhaji Ademu Seidu, said the LINPB decision to  honour the Maigari of Lokoja with the award of excellence for overcoming the Security challenges in area and show appreciation to the royal father’s giants strides in securing the lives and properties of his people.

Alhaji Seidu further said that Dr. Kabir’s efforts in addressing the Security situation in Lokoja needs to be acknowledged the world over and deserved a commendation from organisations such  as LINPB.

He added that If Security of lives and properties is guaranteed a lot of development will be achieved.

In his acceptance speech, the Mayaki of Lokoja, Alhaji Ali Lawal who spoke on behalf of the royal father thanked members of the LINPB for finding the royal father worthy of the excellence award and promised to do more in that direction.

He explained that the royal  father is determined to provide adequate protection of lives and properties of the citizens through the state government.

Lawal commended members of the LINPB for always  be by the side of the Lokoja traditional council through  adequate coverage of their activities.

According to him, “this our indigenous media men are always in every  ceremony organized by Lokoja indigenes with and without invitation.They always give us good publicity. We are proud of them”.
