The Senator representing Kogi West, Sunday Karimi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the father of Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Idris Asiru.
In his heartfelt condolence message, Senator Karimi described the late patriarch, Alhaji Asiru Ijagbemi as a rare gem whose life was marked by humility, honesty, and a burning desire for the progress of his family and community.
According to him, the loss is not only painful to the immediate family but also to friends, associates, and all who benefited from the wisdom and kindness of the departed.
Karimi urged the Commissioner and his family to remain strong, even in grief, and to take comfort in the fact that their father lived a life of purpose, leaving behind a legacy of good name and uprightness.
“My heart is with you and your family in this moment of sorrow. Your father lived as a guiding light to many, and his values will continue to speak through you. May God grant his soul eternal rest and give you the fortitude to bear this great loss,” the Senator stated.
The late father of the Commissioner has since been buried according to Islamic rites, with sympathizers thronging the family home to offer prayers and support.
