Kogi state Youth wing of All Progressives Congress (APC) has conferred an “
Award of Excellence in Humanitarian Service” on the state Commissioner for Solid Mineral resources,Engineer Muhammad Abubakar Bashir Gegu
Kogi Chairman of APC,Alhaji Abdullahi Bello,who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Salihu Aliyu Sulaiman, commended the organisers adding that the award is well deserved in recognition of the Engineer Gegu’s tireless efforts in promoting unity,human development and youths empowerment in the state.
According to him, the Commissioner has transform the landscape of Kogi politics and through his empowment and Humanitarian Services and Commended the organisers of the award.
Responding, Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu thanked the Youth leader for the award and assured them of his resolve to continue to promote unity amongst the youths and APC supporter across the state.
He commended former governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello,whom he described as, “Supreme leader” and urged party faithfuls to remain focus and support APC administration under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
He described Gov. Ododo’s effort in tackling security challenges in the state as worthy of commendation, hence the need to support him.
Gegu appreciated the support and cooperation APC youths and women across the state.

“Engineer Abubakar Bashir Mohammed, affectionately known as Bashir Gegu, is a distinguished engineer, politician, and public servant who has dedicated his life to serving humanity. His passion for engineering led him to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where he studied Chemical Engineering and graduated in 2009.

National Youth Service Corp(NYSC): Served with Taraba Gas Limited from 2009 to 2010

He has also donated transformers to electrify rural communities, restoring honor and dignity to custodians of the people’s heritage through the upgrading of traditional stools, and ensuring community safety.
Engr Bashir has over time demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, earning him recognition and accolades, from his Boss Former Governor Yahaya Bello and awarding him with the tittle Sarkin Yaki.
