The Council Representing Ward ‘D’ in Lokoja Local Government Council,Hon. Danladi Adamu,a.k.a Danladi Police ,on Saturday took dividend of Democracy down to the grassroots as he empowered over Hundred of people across the Polling units in his area.
Adamu,who dished out cash and textiles materials, informed the beneficiaries that the program is meant to support comrade Abdullahi Adamu and governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s poverty alleviation program.
He assured the people that today’s program is just the beginning and promised to take on another group as soon as possible.
The beneficiaries which cuts across the wards went home with N5,000(Five Thousand Naira) and Wrappers each.
The special guest of honor and commissioner for water resources, Engineer Muhammad Danladi Yahaya Farouk, while handing over the cash to the beneficiaries advised them to make judicious use of the money and not to see it as a free donation so that he would be encouraged to do more.
Farouk,who commended Adamu for the initiatives assured the people of ward D’ of his commitments to compliment what the governor of the state, His Excellency Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who he said is so passionate about the plight of the people of this state, especially on the provisions of Water, the policy which according to him “we have never had by successive administrations in this state”.
Also speaking,Vice chairman of Lokoja Local Government, Mrs Patrician Balogun,who represented the chairman,commended Adamu adding that ” we at the executive under the leadership of comrade adamu have good working relationship with the legislative arms.
Balogun maintained further that the Chairman is passionate about our people” that’s why our representative are working tireless for the people.” she said.
Those who spoke at the occasion includes: Lokoja Local Government APC Chairman,Hon. Maikudi Bature, Lokoja Council leader Hon. Muhammad Hauwa Teni among others.
Speaking, onbehalf the beneficiaries Usman Ibrahim thanked the Councilor for his wonderful gesture and promised that they would make judicious use of the money they were given so as to encourage the Councilor to do same or even more to others for the development of ward D ‘in particular and Lokoja Local Government in general.
