Lokoja local government chairman,comrade Abdullahi Adamu has warned residents to desist from burning of tyres, blocking of access road and throwing of explosives in the name of welcoming the 2025.
Adamu gave the warning in a press statement signed by the special adviser on media, comrade Iliyasu Zakari, and made available to Newsmen in Lokoja, on Tuesday.
The statement reads:”As we approach the New Year celebrations, the Office of the Executive Chairman, Lokoja LGA, is urging residents to refrain from burning tyres and other harmful activities that can pose a threat to the environment and public safety.
The Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu , is concerned about the potential risks and consequences of such actions and is calling on everyone to join hands in protecting public infrastructure, promoting a safe and healthy environment.
The Chairman’s office is committed to ensuring that the New Year celebrations are enjoyable and incident-free, and is working closely with relevant agencies and stakeholders to achieve this goal.
Residents are advised to explore alternative and safer ways to celebrate the New Year by creating a positive and festive atmosphere that is enjoyable for everyone, while also protecting our environment and public safety”
