As Lokoja Women Association ( Allah Naso) celebrate annual Maulid, the Chairman of Lokoja local government council,Comrade Abdullahi Adamu have urged Muslim to to emulate Prophet Muhammad and engender peace and unity in their communities and the local government at large.
Adamu made the called on Sunday at this year’s annual Maulid organised by Hajiya Fatima Marka Yahaya Abbas.
He appealed to Muslims in the state and beyond to use the occasion, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad, to promote peace and unity.
While extending his warmest congratulations to chairman of the Association,Hajiya Fatima Marka Yahaya Abbas, adamu called on Muslims to use the occasion to pray for peace and prosperity for both Lokoja local government and state.
In his own remarks , Kogi state commissioner, engineer Muhammad Danladi Yahaya Farouk called on Muslims Ummah to use the spirit of Mawlid to exemplify patriotism, love and peaceful coexistence.
Engineer Farouk stressed that the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad is an ideal time to embrace the principles of good neighbourliness and being our brother’s keepers.
Earlier, Chief Imam of Kutepa Mosque,Sheikh Abu-Bila In a said Eid-el-Mawlid is a period of reflection on the Prophet’s teachings of unity, compassion and peace.
Hajiya Fatima Marka Yahaya Abbas in an interview with ThEANLYSTNG expressed he appreciations to all the dignitaries that attended the ceremony and prayed for their safety return to their various destinations.
This year’s Maulid was attended to the Waziri of Lokoja Alhaji Abdulrahman Idris Baba kurum, Shatiman y, Alhaji Muhammad mabo Kasim, APC chairman, Alhaji Maikudi Bature and Lokoja Local Government council secretary, Abubakar danjuma Muhammad.
Others includes: Ex- DLG, Lokoja local government, Hajiya Fati Abubakar angulu agaba, Traditional Title holders and islamic clerics among many.
