Member representing Lokoja/ Kogi federal Constituency, Hon Suleiman Danladi Aguye, speaker Kogi state House of Assembly,Rt. Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, state commissioner for water Resources, Engineer Muhammad Danladi Yahaya Farouk on Monday visited GSM burnt market in Lokoja to commiserate with the traders over the fire incident that affected parts of the market .
Aguye, while sympathizing With the victims promised to provide ten solar powered lights for the market.
“We have come to sympathise with the victims of the fire disaster and to render the little we can afford,” the lawmaker said.
He announced the donation of the of sum of 1 million Naira on behalf of political office holders from the area and ten solar powered lights for the market.
Also speaking,state commissioner for water Resources, Engineer Muhammad Danladi Yahaya Farouk said,“It was a great loss of property and livelihood, though we thank God that no life was lost to the inferno’ he said.
Chairman of GSM traders, Mr Joel Tunde Omoyi,who conducted aguye and his entourage round the shops that were razed, appreciated the lawmaker for his swift response to the unfortunate incident.
He commended the passion of Governor Ododo’s administration for the welfare of the people of the state.
