Ahead of October 19th 2024 Council Elections, crisis seems imminent in the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC)Lokoja local government Chapter as ward aspirants alleged that the lawmaker ( name withheld) is making moves to impose a female who is currently serving as supervisory council from the ward.
An aspirant who never wanted his name in print,informed this reporter that,the lawmaker who lobbied for the current position the lady is currently occupying is moving from one leader to the other in the ward in pressing on them to approve the candidature of the female aspirant.
All the Aspirants,also told this reporter that they will not allow such imposition of the female aspirant materialise,as they vow to report the lawmaker to local government leadership of the party and appropriate party hierarchy in the state.
They appealed to Governor Ododo as the leader of APC in the state, to intervene and allow the will of people prevail over the personal interest of individual or group of individuals.
Our investigations revealed that majority of political officer holders have concluded plans to impose their Stooges as councilors as against Gov. ododo’s principles of justice, fairness and democratic norms.
