Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission(KOSIEC) announces date for LGA elections

The Kogi state Independent Electoral Commission(KOSIEC) has announced October 19, for the conduct of local government election in the state.

The commission chairman, Mr Manman Nda Eri,disclosed this in Lokoja on Tuesday during a stakeholders meeting.

He appealed to political parties wishing to take part in the elections to play by the rules to ensure a hitch-free process.

Full text of KOSIEC SPEECH

PRESENTATION OF NOTICE OF ELECTION /TIMETABLE AND SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE PROPOSED LOCAL GOVERNMENT POLLS IN KOGI STATE 2024.

“The State Independent Electoral Commission, established, under Section 197 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and empowered by kogi State Government, via the Local Government Elections law 2004, and the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) we diligently prepared this comprehensive Timetable and Schedule of Activities to ensure a transparent, fair, and credible electoral process.

We assure you that these activities have been designed with Consideration for inclusivity, tansparency, and adherence to electoral tous

As such we present the detailed Timetable and Schedule of Activities, as critical stakeholders, for your rewew and approval.

We appreciate your continued support and collaboration with the Organization and completion of the 2024 Local Government State by the grace of God.

In accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and the powers vested in the State Electoral Commission (SIEC), I hereby formally present the The Schedule of Activities for the conduct of the 2024 Local Government in Kogi State which will be scheduled for 19th October, 2024 by the God.
