The Transition Chairman of Lokoja local government ,Comrade Abdullahi has distributed 6 operational vehicles to various Vigilantes and hunters Groups working in various parts of the Lokoja and environs in order to tackle the challenges of insecurity in the area .
While distributing the vehicles to the Vigilantes in Lokoja on Monday , Comrade Abdullahi Adamu said the vehicles would give the Vigilantes and hunters a sense of belonging and the commitment to protect lives and property of people in the area.
He warned the beneficiaries that on “no account should the vehicles be use as execute to any politicians, ncluding me” Adamu warned
He commended the former chairman, Late Hon Danasabe Muhammed Danasabe who he described as a pacesetter to the security architecture of Lokoja
” His Excellency Governor Usman Ododo have directed me to work with the late chairman’s security outfits ” he announced
In his goodwill message,speaker Kogi state House of Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf commended the council boss for his commitments towards protecting the lives and property of the citizens since he assumed office few months ago.
He advised the beneficiaries to use the vehicles to tackle cultism , banditry and other criminalities in the area.
On his part, the Special Adviser on Security to Governor Ododo,commander Duro Jerry Omadara Retired, expressed appreciation to the governor for placing premium on security matters.
While commending comrade Adamu for tackling insecurity in the area,he whoever assured the people of the state that coordinated approach would continue to serve as strategy among security services to sustain the prevalence of security among all communities.
The presentation ceremony which took place at the local government secretariat lokoja, was grace by the Kogi state Commissioner for water Resources, engineer Farouk, traditional rulers and security chiefs among others.
