Lokoja Local Government Transition Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has declared curfew in Felele phase 1&2, Adaba, Back of NPC and ADP, Mawog, Sarkin Noma and Lokoja Poly Village in Lokoja Local Government area.
In a statement signed by the special adviser on security to the chairman,Bala Muhammad said residents are advised to adhere to the security measures taken by the security committee which includes: “Free movement within the affected Communities wii be restricted to essential activities between 10pm to Sam starting from Wednesday, 27th while continuous enhanced security patrols will be conducted throughout the communities.
The statement further reads;
“In response to recent security concerns and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents, Lokoja Local Government wishes to announce the implementation of restrictions on movement within Felele Phase 1, Felele Phase 2, Adaba, Back of NPC, Back of ADP, Mawog}, Sarkin Noma and Poly Village, in addition to deploying a joint security patrol teams.
The decision comes after careful consideration of the escalating security situation In these Communities at the security meeting convened by the Lokoja Local Government Transition Committee Chairman on Monday, 25th March, 2024.
Residents are advised to adhere to the following measures:
Free movement within the affected Communities wii be restricted to essential activities between 10pm to Sam starting from Wednesday, 27th while continuous enhanced security patrols will be conducted throughout the communities.
These measures are temporary and are implemented with the primary goal of protecting the safety and security of all residents. I urge cooperation from the community members in adhering to the restrictions and in providing any necessary assistance to law enforcement agencies” the statement concluded.
