Kogi Speaker Lauds Gov.Ododo,describes New State Executive Members As Technocrats

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has applauded governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for giving a matching order to the newly appointed members of state executive council, described them as technocrats who know their onions.

The commendations was contained via a statement signed by the chief press Secretary to the speaker, Yabagi Mohammed, obtained by THEANALYSTNG in Lokoja on Thursday.

The speaker who commended the Governor’s proactive approach to governance added that the decision of the Governor to hit the ground running shows he was prepared immediately the results of the November 11 gubernatorial election was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which pronounced the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, winner.

Yusuf further noted that, just like the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Ododo is a man after excellence, stressing that the portfolios and antecedents of the appointees that were screened and confirmed by the Assembly demonstrate that they would bring dividends of democracy to bear on Kogi people.

While charging them to work tirelessly to deliver on the agenda and policies of the New administration, urged them to work closely with the people at the grassroots to ensure they build on the gains recorded under the immediate past Governor.

As the legislature, the speaker said present members of the 8th Assembly would take their oversight responsibilities seriously and urged them to work closely with lawmakers from their areas for the good of Kogi State.

Kogi State House of Assembly had dedicated the whole of its plenary for the week to screening and confirming the appointees who were subsequently inaugurated into the new Executive Council by the Governor on Wednesday in Lokoja.
