Omala Council Boss Inaugurates Transition Committee,Charges them On Service to Community

“Today, we take another step in the development of our land and the welfare of our people. I challenge all of you here today to put humanity first in all that you do. Let the Welfare of our people and the development of Omala be the center point of all you do”.
Honourable Edibo Ameh Mark gave this charge on Monday at the Council Secretariat, Abejukolo during the inauguration of the Transition Committee.

While swearing in members of the Committee, the Council Chairman said their appointments was a call to service first to God and then to the people of Omala Local Government stressing that it is also a recognition of their dedication and commitment to the growth of the land.
The members of the Transition Committee sworn in are:

  1. Hon. Simeon Omale (JP) SECRETARY TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (SLG)
  2. Hamsu Shehu – Supervisory Councilor for Works
  3. Solomon D. Akuh – Supervisory Councillor for Budget and Planning
  4. Godwin Noah Adaji – Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture
  5. Mariam Ocholi – Supervisory Councillor for Education and
  6. Hon. Kerim Paul – Supervisory Councillor for Health.

Responding on behalf of the Appointees, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Simeon Omale thanked the Council Chairman for finding them worthy to serve, especially the opportunity to work with him for the growth and development of Omala. He promised that the confidence and trust reposed in them would be reciprocated through their dedication and commitment to the vision and dream of the Chairman for the development of the land.

For the smooth running of his Administration, the Council Chairman also appointed some personal aides. Those appointed are:

  1. Hon. Ibrahim Emmanuel (Complete) – Chief of Staff (COS) to the Chairman.
  2. Hon. Iyaji Haruna shaibu – SSA on Special Duties
  3. Hon. Reuben Ikani – SSA on Peace and Security
  4. Hon. Idris Usman – SSA on Political Affairs
  5. Hon. Seidu Yunusa – SSA on Good Governance and Due Process.
  6. Hon. Paul Ogbeba – SSA on Culture and Tourism
  7. Hon.Bamayi Usman – SSA on Legal matters
  8. Hon. Afeez Oyekunle – SSA on ICT
  9. Hon. Bamoku Ahmed – SSA on Business Enterprise
  10. HON.JOSEPH OYIBO – SSA on Environmental Sanitation

Hon. Mark Ameh Edibo told the newly appointed Aides to be fair to all in discharging their duties and urged them to be diligent, dutiful and committed to the demands of their portfolios.

Furthermore, the Omala Council Boss inaugurated the Committee on Solid Minerals headed by Mal. Yunusa Yahaya (Heavy D).The Committee whose terms of reference, among others include the identification of available mineral deposits in Omala was charged to ensure that all mining companies operating within the jurisdiction of the Local Government Area adhere strictly to the rules of engagements as enshrined in relevant laws and edicts of the Local and State Governments.

The Chairman also created time after the inauguration ceremonies to hold a closed door peace and security meeting with the Fulani and Agatu communities in Omala LGA.
Highpoint of the meeting which had in attendance the Onu Abejukolo and District Head, Alh. Suleiman Abimaje was the setting up of a Peace Committee that would represent all interest groups to ensure lasting and permanent peaceful coexistence in the area.
