His Excellency, Clarence Olafemi as governor in just 3 months brought the College of Education Technical to us in Kabba to the glory of God almighty.
In view of this laudable feat, I keep wondering why some Kabba/Okun elders and critical/uncritical stakeholders are not looking at Okun having the governor to ourselves than to embracing a phantom and abracadabra University at the tail end of 8 years tenure!
Without sounding rhetorical and immodest, who told them that a governor from Okun won’t be in the best position to establish a university and fund it properly in Okun land!? And even if the so-called University is genuine and feasible, why is it being used as a weapon or possibly a bargaining power to stop us from becoming the next governor of our beloved Kogi State!? Don’t forget Okun within 3 months establish and fund CETK just 90days.
For the sake of emphasis, is there no university in Igala land? I guess, no! And, they still govern for 19 years and still want to be in control?
Is Osara not in the Central with both Polytechnic and a University, yet still yearning to be in charge?
Why is the issue of university depriving Okun from attaining her goal & fair share of governance as eshsrined in the Nigerian Constitution?
For me, the location of a university is just an added advantage to us in Okunland.
Laying it bare, our main goal is the governorship position. No more, no less! It’s high time we call our people and lecture them properly by saying the truth. Our People have been subservient to other districts for a long while. We can’t assume they know, let us tell them the university is good but can’t stop us from getting our goal of becoming a governor, at least for the first time.
It is, therefore, instructive to say without any equivocation that, I do not welcome the idea of until our 3 candidates stepped down for each other before we can actualize our aim. If paraventure, they agree to synergize for the greater interest of Okun Nation, that is a positive for us. I repeat, either step down or not, okun University is part of our right as a one important segment of a whole body! For the umpteenth time, Okun for Governor is non-negotiable.
Muri Ajaka, Akpabana Jubrin, Ilona and Hassan Baiwa of NNPP didn’t step down for each other, yet they’re boasting to be in control.
” The mountain you are afraid of climbing today by merely looking at the height from a far will keep you in the valley forever if you don’t do something” This is one of the choicest words from the marble!
