Alfa Olukuluku Kabiru Electrocuted While Attempting To Steal Cable In Lokoja

Nemesis on the early hours of Thursday caught up with a man, Alfa
Olukuluku Kabiru who tried to steal transformer cable belonging to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), as he got electrocuted when electricity supply was restored to the equipment on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred at Paparanda Square, Lokoja, around 2 a.m

According to a eyewitness who pleaded annonimity, the vandal was cutting the transformer cable and, suddenly, electricity supply was restored to the area.

The eyewitness who spoke to THEANALYSTNG at the scene disclosed this to our reporter.

The eyewitness who claimed he knew the victim said he is an inegene of Lokoja.

According to him ” the
victim’s name is Alfa Olukuluku Kabiru, he’s a residence of Unguwan Masara” he said.

A AEDC senior staff who was at the scene, though never wanted him name in print told this reporter that: “This is why we always appeal to our consumers to always protect their transformers.

“If the vandal had made away with the cable, the whole area would have been plunged into darkness for days.

“The AEDC has been spending a lot of money on repair of vandalized equipment and stolen cables.

“If all our installations are well secured, this money would have been spent on buying new equipment and ensuring regular power supply,” the AEDC staff said.

Meanwhile, as at the time of this report the corpse of the victim is yet to be removed
