The Governorship candidate of the Accord Party (AP), in Kogi State, Vice Admiral Usman Oyibe Jibrin, has felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima on their Swearing -In as the president and vice president of the federal Republic of Nigeria.
Jibrin said he is convinced that Nigerians would witness a higher level of development and prosperity in the next four years.
He also congratulated the newly elected governors who are being inaugurated today in 28 states of the federation.
The frontline governorship candidate, while congratulating President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, his Vice Kashim Shettima and the 28 governors, charged them to actualize the legitimate yearnings of Nigerians for a greater country in all spheres of social-political and economic life of the citizenry.
In a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja, Jibrin described today’s inauguration of the President and the governors as a positive development and a demonstration of the collective wishes of the Nigerian people for the entrenchment of democracy in the country.
The governorship hopeful also congratulated Nigerians on 24 years of unbroken democratic governance, saying the milestone was achieved by sheer determination of the people to make democracy work in spite of inherent challenges.
He said: “Today is significant in so many ways. The President and the Vice President have taking oath of office just as returning and newly elected governors are being inaugurated in 28 states. This has been the tradition since 1999.
“As a people, we have every reason to be happy today as we witness 24 years of unbroken democratic governance in our country. We owe this to the commitment and determination of the Nigerian people, who have come to see democracy as the most viable option.
“So, while we say a big congratulation to the President, the Vice President and the governors, the biggest congratulation goes to the Nigerian people – the true hero of our democracy.
“Now, the task of taking Nigeria to a higher level of development and prosperity has begun. We wish Mr President and our governors a successful and impactful tenure.”
