Security agencies in Niger state and Abuja have launched a manhunt for a duo of mother and daughter identified as Jemimah and Precious over the forceful abduction of Mr. Pedro Chidawa from his father’s home in Diko, Gurara Local Government Area of Niger state.
Chidawa was forceful kidnapped by suspected thugs on May 12 impersonating as military officers.
This newspaper learnt that the victim was lured through a phone call he received from his little sister crying for help claiming she was being beaten by a 54 year old female guest in the house known as Jemimah Aduwak of Television Village, Kaduna.
On getting to the house, the victim recounted that he met the said thugs (numbering about 10) who had already ransacked the whole house (as his father had traveled out on official duty).
Present also was the woman grown up daughter of Ms. Jemimah, Precious Kantiyok, who together with the thugs, pounced on him, hitting him with the butt of their guns, bottles and other weapons.
After the beating at home, they forcefully put him in a vehicle and drove off with him.
While on their way, at the outskirts of Diko, as they drove past the motor park, the victim recounted how he futilely shouted “help me, help me”.
The people at the motor park were able to stop the vehicle to enquire, but the men in the military uniform told them he (the victim) had a case to answer at army barracks and they let them go.
The victim was taken to a hideout somewhere in Kubwa, where he was tortured and forced to lick Ms. Aduwak’s feet and for him to call her mummy.
Our correspondent further learnt that after several negotiations and pleading by the victim’s relatives, they dropped him off on the Kubwa Highway after stripping him of personal belongings and cash.
Further investigations revealed that Jemimah is an estranged ex of a family member and she felt kidnapping the victim will force the ex-lover to reach out to her for reconciliation.
A security source said the duo were being tracked.
