Kogi state governorship candidate under the platform of All Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Mubarak Salihu Musa has announced that he didn’t interested in stepping down for a former member of NWC of APC, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka.
Mubarak made the remarks during an interview with journalists in Lokoja on Thursday.
The NNPP Guber candidate also debunked the rumours that he’s sponsored by governor Yahaya Bello,adding that we’ve been independent.
“How can Governor Yahaya Bello sponsor me knowing that we are not from same political party. It’s the works of mischief makers ” he said.
He explained that the meeting held in Abuja with the seven Governorship candidates from the eastern senatorial District was not meant for him toq, Stepdown as some social media reported.
He maintained further that as a ranking, experience and more popular candidate from the area,he wondered how some social media reported that he has Stepdown for a candidate in another political party.
The NNPP flagbearer said that he is contesting on the platform of NNPP, stating that the party have only one candidate as those that are spreading the fake news against him and the party,are not a member of the party.
Mubarak said, “Let the public know that it’s my name,. Mubarak Salihu Musa that is in INEC Portal, ask those propagandists whether the name of their alleged candidate, was the name published by INEC as the NNPP’s candidate for Kogi State or they haven’t not woken up from their slumber to realise that Dr Mubarak Salihu Musa is only the party’s candidate in the November 2023 Governorahsp elections”he queried.
He appealed to NNPP supporters in the state to ignore the rumours and remain focus as the task before them is to rescue Kogi state from the maladministration under the APC led administration.
