2023 Guber ; 3 PDP House Of Assembly Candidates Resign Membership Of PDP In Kogi

Ahead of November 11, 2023 governorship election in Kogi state, three House of Assembly candidates in the last general elections have resigned their membership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

PDP House of Assembly candidate for Yagba West state constituency in the 2023 general elections, Maiyaki Sunday, said he has been an ardent member of the party since 1998 but can no longer cope with impunity in the party.

“The party slogan, ‘power to the people’ is now ‘power to a few’,” he said.

PDP House of Assembly candidates for Ijumu and Mopamuro constituencies, Olupeka Babatunde Joseph and Daniel Olorunjuwon Jones respectively, resigned their membership of the party with immediate effect.

Though the trio did not disclose their next political moves, sources confirmed to our reporter that they are currently weighing the possibility of teaming up with African Democratic Congress, ADC.
