Chelsea will this week make a final decision on appointing former Paris Saint-Germain head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, as their next permanent manager.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, talks between Chelsea and Pochettino enter into crucial stages this week as the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is favourite to get the Stamford Bridge job ahead of Vincent Kompany.
“Talks between Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea will continue this week to enter into crucial stages,” Romano tweeted on Monday morning.
“He’s the favourite to get the job since Thursday, Luis Enrique & Nagelsmann are out. This week, key to make final decision.
“Kompany appreciated — but Pochettino is ahead.”
Chelsea are keen to appoint a new permanent manager that will take over from caretaker manager Frank Lampard at the end of the season.
