President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reappointment of the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission, Professor Umar Danbatta.
This was contained in a statement signed by Uwa Sulaiman,spokeman for the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ibrahim Pantami on Friday.
According to the statement the President approved the reappointment of the NCC boss upon recommendation by the Ministry in line with the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003 “to consolidate the gains made in the telecommunications industry in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy”.
The statement read in part: “Professor Danbatta’s reappointment was based on the recommendation of the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), FNCS, FBCS, FIIM, in line with the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003” the statement concluded
It could be Recalled that president Buhari appointed Danbatta four years ago.
