The chief imam of Lokoja ,Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban is to led Lokoja Muslim faithful and members of traditional council to this year’s Eidil-Fitir in the absence of the Maigari of Lokoja,Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111,who passed away September this year.
In a letter signed by the secretary Lokoja traditional council, Alhaji muhammed Usman Nalado addressed to the Director of Local Government Administration (DLG) apologizing for conveying a letter from Maikarfi ruling house , appointing Khalifa Ibrahim Etsu Shuiabu who according to them is to led Muslim community and member of Lokoja traditional council to this year’s Eidil-Fitir celebration.
In the letter ,the secretary stated that he apologized for not seeking approval from the Acting Chairman of Lokoja local government Council before he conveyed the message of members of Muhammadu Maikarfi ruling house.
Part of the letter reads; “With reference to my letter ,dated 17, April 2023 with the subject ” Eidil-Fitir celebration ” I wish to apologize for conveying the resolution of the Maikarfi ruling to the Local Government council,for appointing Khalifa Ibrahim Etsu Shuiabu Kenchi to led Muslim faithful without been directed by the acting chairman, Lokoja Local Government traditional council.
In view of the above,the chief imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Sha’aban will led Muslim faithful to Edi praying ground and led the two Raka’at prayy at 9.45 am” the statement concluded.
