Let’s checkout the list of Kogi State administrators and Civilian governors. Kogi State was created on 27 August, 1991 out of Benue State and Kwara State.
The state was governed by military governors,Acting Governor and civilian Governors since it creation.
Those who administered the state since it creation are as follows;

Col Danladi Mohammed Zakari Administrator28 August 1991 – January 1992 Military Fulani by tribe from Adamawa

Abubakar Audu Governor
January 1992- November 1993 NRC
The first democratically elected Governor,An Igala by tribe from kogi east senatorial district!

Military Governors/ Administrators.

Governor Colonel Paul Omeruo Administrator,Ibo by tribe from South East . From 9 December 1993 to 22 August 1996.

Third civilian governor igala by tribe from kogi east senatorial district

After the annulment of elections by court of appeal sitting in Abuja, an acting Gov was appointed,who happened to be the speaker , Kogi state House of Assembly,Rt. Honourable Clarence Olafemi, took over from 6th of February 2008 – 29 March 2008 PDP.

29 March 2008 – January 2011 PDP igala by tribe from kogi east senatorial district

Captain (Rtd)Idris Wada Governor

Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello Governor 27 January 2016 Incumbent APC. Ebira by tribe from kogi central senatorial district

Kogi west is part of kogi state, So For fairness, equity and justice, Kogi West deserved the next Governorship seat.
