The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba, has ordered the posting of seven Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various commands and formations across the country.
The posting is coming on the heels of completion of the Senior Executive Course 44 at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies by some senior police officers.
Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a press statement, Friday in Abuja, the newly posted CPs include Sadiq Abubakar, who was posted the FCT; Frank Mba, to Border Patrol Force, Force Headquarters; Arungwa Udo, to DFA Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters; Bardaru Lawal, to General Investigations, Force Criminal Investigations Department Annex, Kaduna; Suleiman Yusuf, to Admin, Research and Planning, Force Headquarters; Ebong Ebong, to CP Admin DFA, Force Headquarters; and Babaji Sunday to Commandant, Police College Maiduguri.
Adejobi noted that the new CP in charge of the FCT enlisted into the NPF in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
“He was the CP, Peacekeeping Operations and Coordinator Police Special Forces, before his nomination for the Senior Executive Course at the National Institute between February and December 2022,” the statement read in part.
He added, “Frank Mba, the new CP in charge of the Border Patrol Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja, hails from Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu state.
“He is a Master’s Degree holder in Law, and enlisted into the NPF in 1992. He was the FPRO before his nomination for the Senior Executive Course at the National Institute between February and December 2022.”
According to the Spokesperson, the IGP charged the newly posted officers to hit the ground running in the areas of crime-fighting, public cooperation, and safety.
He also called for support and cooperation from members of the public to the new police helmsmen to enable them perform optimally on their mandate.
