Ahead of the forthcoming Governorship elections in Kogi State, a prominent socio-political group has lend it’s voice in the advocacy for power shift to the western Senatorial District of the state.
Arising from an enlarged meeting of the group in lokoja earlier today, The group made demands for power shift to Kogi west saying that this is the right time for the district to produce the next governor of the State.
According to the group political leaders and opinions molders in the state should endeavors to back up the clarion calls for Kogi West to produce the next governor. It further stated that in the spirit of equity justice and fairness the people of Kogi west should be allowed to produce the next governor of the state to balance the equation of power rotation among the three Senatorial District of the state.

The Convener of the advocacy group Comrade Opeyemi Olusegun while having a robust conversation with news men after the group meeting appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello to uphold his pedigree and principle of equity and fairness by anointing any good and loyal Candidate from Kogi West who has the capacity and credibility to govern the state has his successor.
Comrade Opeyemi Olusegun said that governor Bello would definitely be able to write his name in gold in the history of the state if he succeeded in producing a formidable successor from Kogi West.
The group added that the people of Kogi west would have a great sense of belongings if one of them is giving the chance to lead the state as governor in the 2023 Governorship elections in the state.

The group leader said is association has began a wild range of consultations and advocacy in making demands for power shift to the western Senatorial District. emphasizing that it’s important for Kogi State to tape from the vast intellectual prowess of the people of Kogi west who possessed the requisite wisdom and capability to provide additional good Governance system for the growth and development of the state.
Adding that when one of them is elected as governor a new realm of rapid Socioeconomic development trajectory would be the order of the state
“We would continue to consult and advocate for power shift to Kogi west because our people deserves to provide good Governance for the people of the state” Comrade Opeyemi Olusegun concluded
