It’s Our Turn To Produce Kogi Governor, Says Lokoja/Kogi Advocacy For Good Governance (LKAFG)

An advocacy group, “Lokoja/ Kogi Advocacy For Good Governance” (LKAFG) in kogi state, have declared that it is now the turn of Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency,Lokoja in particular to produce the next Chief executive of Kogi state.

The advocacy group made the disclosure through its Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Sulaiman while speaking with THEANALYSTNG on Saturday in Lokoja at the end of its meeting.

Our Reporter gathered that Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency with the highest voting strength among the seven local government areas that constitutes Kogi West senatorial District, has not produced a governor since the inception of the present democratic dispensation in 1999.

Recall that four people who ruled the state as governors are from the Eastern Senatorial District of the state,while the incumbent is from the central senatorial whose mandate is seen as Divine powershift.

The meeting which was attended by members of the group, stakeholders and members of various Political parties from the area have, however, said that it is their turn to produce the governor in 2023.

Some of those who spokesman during meeting lamented that the zone has been marginalised, Stressing that senatorial District cannot continue to produce deputy governors, hence they should be given the opportunity to produce the governor.

He urged the people of the area to unite in order to liberate the District for the sake of equity, fairness and justice.

He disclosed further that the association will some unveil Hon Muhammed Mabo Kasim, as the aspirant they endorsed ahead of march 2023 party primary.
