There was standstill in Lokoja, Kogi state capital, as thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, under the axis of the minister of state for federal Capital Territory (FCT) tag” Ramatu Tijjani Aliy’ (RTA) Foundation,on Thursday held rally supporting the party’s Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates, Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
The rally also served as an avenue to canvass votes for other candidates of the party in order to ensure the party’s victory in Lokoja and Kogi state in general in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
APC supporters and other residents in Lokoja, came out en mass to participate in the rally, leading to traffic gridlock in the town and its environs.
Present at the rally were the APC Lokoja local government Chairman, Alhaji Maikudi Bature, Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency house of representatives candidate, Hon. Danladi Sulaiman Aguye, Hon. Bin-Ebiya Tijjani Shehu and Hon Umar Aliyu,a.k.a Assignment,Lokoja 1 and 2 state constituency APC candidates respectively.
Others were: APC leaders, stakeholders ,women, youth organisations and party supporters across Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency.
The rally, which started at Obasanjo Square Rounder area through Murtala Muhammed way through Taiwo- Lugard House terminated at Unity office, Lokoja.
Addressing the crowd, the Coordinator of RTA Foundation, Salisu Muhammed Aliyu Dan Tala , expressed confidence in the victory of Tinubu- Shatima and other candidates of the party following the massive turnout of people for the rally.
He said that Dr. Aliyu, has done her best, calling on people of the state and Nigeria in general, to vote for Tinubu for better governance.
He commended the state minister For state,. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, for her contributions,empowerment programs and contributions towards mobilising APC supporters across the state.
In his remarks, Kogi/ Lokoja federal Constituency APC Flagbearer, Hon. Sulaiman Aguye, said the crowd witnessed in Lokoja ,the state capital was unprecedented.
Aguye said that the calibre of candidates and followers present at the rally was an indication that the party would deliver dividends of democracy to people of Lokoja, Kogi State and Nigeria in general.
He assured the people that the party would not relent on its oars until victory was achieved.
He promised to facilitate constituency projects for his constituents, if elected in the forthcoming elections.

The APC Chairman of Lokoja Local Government, Hon. Maikudi Bature, said the rally was to show the whole world that APC has a good product in person of Tinubu.
He maintained further that campaign/ rally would continue until APC achieve victory.
