A Nigerian police officer, Daniel Amah, has received award from the Inspector-General of Police Alkali Baba for rejecting 200,000 dollar bribe offered him by some criminals to compromise investigation.

Amah is the divisional police officer of Nassarawa Division in Kano.

The IGP, who was represented by the deputy commissioner of police in charge of administration in Kano, Abubakar Zubairu, said the officer was awarded for maintaining outstanding excellent work ethics, uncommon focus and dedication to duty, and exhibiting sound professionalism.

Recall that in April this year, Mr Amah arrested and investigated one Ali Zaki for armed robbery.

Upon his arrest, Mr Zaki offered 200,000 dollars as bribe to Mr Amah in order to let him off the hook and compromise the case.

But the police officer rejected the offer and continued with his investigation.
