A group comprising Women, youth groups, prominent members of the political class, and non governmental organizations under the aegis of Kogi West Stakeholders for Peace and Development(KWS PD) has urged the people of Kogi West senatorial District to support the agitation of PDP senatorial candidate, Hon. Teejay Yusuf.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, made available to newsmen, the group drummed support for Hon. Yusuf, who is the current serving member representing Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu federal Constituency, because of what they described as his experience in lawmaking.
The leader of the group, Hon. Abdullah Ibrahim Yakubu, said that indices showed that the lawmaker had performed well, adding “The group believes that Teejay’s performance as the member representing Kabba -Bunu/ Ijumu federal Constituency is the best since the inception of democracy in 1999″
While appealing to the people of Kogi West senatorial district to continue to support the the lawmaker,Yakubu noted that Teejay was ready to do more for the district.
“Hon. Teejay Yusuf’s performance as a member representing Kabba- Bunu Ijumu federal Constituency is the best in the history of the area and Kogi West senatorial District at large.
“We need to encourage and support his aspiration in 2023,we appeal to our people to do same. What he has done as a member,house of representatives is unprecedented.
“We should not joke with our best at this critical time. We need more development in Kogi West senatorial District. Therefore, I am appealing to all to continue to trust Hon.Teejay Yusuf come 2023″ the statement concluded.

Recall that IN 2011, Honourable TeeJay ran for the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency seat in Nigeria’s 7th National Assembly and won. In 2015, and 2019, he was re-elected to the same position. Between 2015 and 2019, he served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Capital Market & Institutions, while also serving as a member on the following Committees: Information Communication Technology Committee; Finance Committee; Ports, Harbours & Waterways; Information & National Orientation Committee; Sport Committee; House Committee on FERMA; the House Public Accounts Committee; and the House Committee on Human Rights. Between 2011 and 2015, Hon. TeeJay served as the Deputy Chairperson of the House Committee on Information Communication Technology.
THEANALYSTNG reports that Teejay Yusuf was declared winner of Kogi West senatorial primaries, having scored 163 votes to Dino’s 99 of 265 accredited votes for the election conducted at the Olonijola Event Center Kabba, Kogi state.
The House of Representatives member defeated three other contestants, Hon Adeniyi Olayemi, Hon Sam Aro Bamidele to emerged flagbearer of PDP in Kogi West.
