Residents of Idoji town in Okene Local Government Area in Kogi State are still counting their losses as another explosion hits the town.
The explosion which occurred late Thursday,was said to have killed one and injured many.
An eye witness, Usman Animuko Sani, who spoke with our reporter said the explosion occurred around 6pm on Thursday when some residents, including masquerades, gathered to celebrate the annual Echane Festival.
According him, sound of the explosion affected many residents,one of the victim whose identity is yet to be ascertained lost his legs while many others sustained various degrees of injuries, one of the victim died on the way to Okengwe general hospital.
Sani further Stated that some victims were referred to Lokoja for further medical attention.
Recall that THEANALYSTNG reports that in less than two weeks explosion hit kabba where one woman lost her life while her brother lost one of his leg in the incidence.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relation Officer, William Ayah, in a telephone conversation, stated that there was an explosion in Okene where some people were injured.
According to Ayah, unconfirmed reports reaching him revealed that one of the victims of the explosion has died in the hospital.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Edward Egbuka had deployed Police bomb expert to the scene of the explosion to unravel the causes of the explosion.
