Second Phase: Sen. Karimi Restates Commitment To Women Devt, Empowers Women In Lokoja Local Govt

The senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Steven Sunday karimi, has restated his commitment to women empowerment and enterprise development with the empowerment of Women in Lokoja Local government area.

Karimi,who was represented by his Wife,Mrs Stella Maris Karimi made the commitment during the presentation of Cheques to seven corparative organizations in Lokoja on Saturday.

During the Empowerment, 7 women cooperative groups, with each group having at least 15 members benefiting Two Million Naira each.

These groups were carefully selected based on their potential for growth and impact in their respective communities.

The Coordinator of the program, Mrs. Olamide Babalola Adesoro, extended the goodwill message from the wife of the Senator, Mrs. Stellamaris Karimi.

She emphasized the roles women play in society, described them as the backbone of the society who are found across all sectors of the nation’s economy.

“Women are the backbone of the society who are found across all sectors of the economy. They need to be supported because when you build a woman, you build a community, and Senator Sunday Karimi is passionate about women as a result of the integral roles they perform and fill in the society.”

She further encouraged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the fund for the purposes intended and not spend it lavishly on frivolities.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Senator and his wife for their generosity, commitment to empowering women, and services to humanity. They pledged to utilize the funds effectively and make a positive impact in their respective communities.

The ‘Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Women Empowerment Program’ is an annual program in which One Hundred Million Naira was expanded to different registered women cooperative groups last year, and in the second phase for this year, over 50 registered women cooperative groups different to those who benefited last year would benefit from the N100,000,000 program.

Senator Sunday Karimi, says he remains committed to bringing to the grassroots the implementation of the president Tinubu Youths and Women Empowerment Policies, expanding their businesses, increasing their income, improving their living standard, and contributing to the economic growth.
