Kogi state commissioner for Solid mineral and natural Resources, Engineer abubakar Bashir Gegu,on Monday gave a Toyota Land cruiser to the maigari of Lokoja, HRH. Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V.
Presenting the key to the vehicle to the royal father in his palace,Gegu said the aim was to recognize the rule of maigari
as facilitators of peace, security and development in the dormain and the state in general.
“Your Royal Highnesses,the present administration under Gov. Usman Ododo recognizes the importance of traditional institutions.
With this little token gift from me, it’ll help in tackling His Royal Highness’s transportation problem.
“Morally speaking, Gov Usman Ododo’s administration, know what traditional rulers are doing in contributing to peace and stability among their communities
“I uphold the high esteem of Lokoja traditional institution as foundation for social cohesion, peace and unity of our people ” gegu said.
Responding,the monarch thanked engineer Gegu for the gift, he described him as” a patriot and philanthropist.
