The Leader of the Council, Hon. Muhammad Hauwa Teni while presenting the letter containing the resolution of the Council stated that the Legislative Arm deemed it necessary given the Chairman’s modest achievements and style of leadership.
She stated that “the Legislative Council in session at its plenary sitting of Thursday 17th April, 2025, considered and deliberated extensively on the motion moved by the councilor representing Ward C, Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi Katu to pass a vote of confidence on you in view of your excellent performance in the last six months”.
Hon. Hauwa highlighted the Completion of Lock-Up shops along Kewon road and the Oworo Estate road in Felele and facilitating the upgrade of five Primary Health Care Facilities.
Also listed include provision of logistics and other necessary support to conventional security agencies including vigilante and hunter group, restoring security and safety in Students Communities around Federal University Lokoja and Kogi State Polytechnic, and the concerted efforts at tackling banditry, kidnapping and other security challenges in parts of Oworo, Kupa and Kakanda.
The Councillors also acknowledged the Chairman’s transparency, leadership style which has ensured a cordial working relationship with the Management of the Local Government, the Staff as well as the Legislative Arm of the Local Government.
The Council Chairman thanked the legislators for the cooperation and understanding in the last 6 months. “We will continue to do what is best for our Local Government and with your continuous support, the sky is our starting point.”
“Like you have noted, we are a team and my doors are always open to everyone” he added.
