The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has reassured the public that the Kogi State Government is on top the Security situations in Lokoja Local Government and other parts of the State.
Comrade Abdullahi made this statement while dissecting the topic “Enhancing Effective Community Policing” on Coast to Coast, a Sunday evening programme on NTA Lokoja along with the Comptroller-General of the Kogi State Vigilante Service, Navy Commander Abdulrahman Mariam Adinoyi (Rtd).
The Council Chairman noted that the successes recorded in the area of Security under Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo is highly undereported. He salutes the Governor’s commitment and prompt response whenever security issues are brought before him.
“Currently, there is a successful security operation ongoing in many parts of Lokoja II aimed at dislodging and flushing out kindnappers from their camps in the forests. We are recording reclaiming our forest and affected communities are returning to their settlements”, he added.
The Council Boss commended the Kogi State Vigilante Service, Hunters and Vigilante Groups who are working hand in hand with Conventional Security Agencies to restore safety and security of lives and properties. “The local government has a good working relationship and synergy with KSVS. We will continue prioritize the welfare of our personnel and also support the security outfits with the necessary tools to protect our communities.” He assured.
He appealed to the public to be patriotic Nd report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities noting that security is everybody’s business.
