A Chieftain of people’s Democratic Party( PDP) in kogi state,Hon.Abdallah Yusuf Abdullah ,says his decision to dumped PDP for the ruling All Progressive Congress APC is to secure greater opportunities for his people through the people oriented policies of Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Abdallah who was officially received by the leadership of the party lead by the party leader,Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali made this known in a an interview with on Monday in Lokoja.
According to him, gov Ododo within one year in office was able to unite the people of state irrespective of party or religious affliction this according to him has made the PDP to be losing out in Kogi state.
He stressed that his move to decamp to the APC was aimed at ensuring that the people of Ward and Unit benefitted from the dividends of governance.
“The position we took is for the good of democracy and to ensure that the good people of Ward D move forward
“I looked at the interests of my people and I have seen that these interests cannot be protected in any other platform,’’ he said.
He expressed confidence that the APC will provide a more promising platform to advance the welfare of kogites and Lokoja local government in particular.
He stressed that his defection was a calculated step towards sustainable development and inclusive governance programmes of governor Ahmed Usman Ododo
Earlier, Lokoja local government APC Chairman,Hon. Maikudi Bature who officially presented Abdallah to Hon. Sulaiman Baba Ali, described him as ” a big fish” whose defection signified the last funeral of PDP not only in Ward D,but the entire Lokoja local government area.
