The Maigari of Lokoja, HRH. Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V, on Wednesday Commissioned Ultra-Modern Santali Venues And Events Centre Lokoja.
In brief and colourful Ceremony, Maigari who was represented by WAZIRI of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdulrahman Idris Babakurun expressed delight over the erection of the edifice with modern facilities in Lokoja.
The royal father who noted that the centre would provide employment opportunities to our teaming youths urged the people of Emirate to put it into good use by patronising the centre.
“We are proud of this events centre because it is a world-class venues with modern facilities. There is no venues and events centre built by Indigenous company in Lokoja emirate that’s great than this one, being the first of its kind to have a well arranged chairs with banquet hall and women wing.
”We commended Alhaji Bala Haruna,the Santali of Lokoja,for building this ultra-modern events centre which has become a rallying point for the people of Lokoja, It, therefore, gives me great joy to commission this ultra-modern venues and events Centre,” he said.
Earlier, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Santali Venues And Events Centre, Alhaji Bala Haruna, said that the ultra-modern edifice was a restaurant which has been existed for over 15 years.
“We’ve been in eatery business, seeing there was no dividends after several attempts,I decided to turn it to want we are witnessing today” he said.
He disclosed that the use of the centre is opened to the general public with the discount of 30% to Lokojans.
He expresses appreciation to His Royal Highness, Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V, the chief Imam of Lokoja,Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban and all those who attended the ceremony despite the sudden death of Ustaz Abdullahi Bature, who passed away yesterday.
Chairman of Danko Development Forum (DDF) and Sadaukin Lakwaja, Alhaji Bama Mundi,in his remarks, commended Alhaji Bala Haruna for his foresight and patriotism.
He called on others businessmen from the area to emulate Santali stressing ” we must encourage Santali by patronising the centre” he said.
The ceremony was graced by the chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban,sheikh Abubakar Adamu, Hakimis, traditional title holders, members of Lokoja traditional institution and host of others.
