The chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban and his counterpart,Imam Abubakar Adamu,has called on Muslims to imbibe the spirit of love, tolerance and patience in their daily affairs as taught by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The Islamic clerics made the call in Lokoja on Wednesday during the annual Maulid and thanks giving organized by late sheikh Yabagi family in commemoration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad and thanks giving in honour of River state Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration service, Alhaji Abdulmajeed Yabagi.
Sha’aban ,who described Maulud as a period for Muslims to get closer to Allah by showing love to his prophet, called on Muslims to embrace one another irrespective of any differences for the progress of Islam.
He also called on Muslim parents to inculcate the love of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the hearts of their wards by sending them to Islamic schools and teaching them the history of the Holy prophet.
In his on remarks, Imam Adamu reminded Muslims Ummah on the significance of practicing Islam according to the teachings of the Qur’an and traditions of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as shown by the companions of the prophet of Islam.
Imam Adamu who commended the Families of late Sheikh Yabagi, prayed for the new Comptroller to overcome all challenges in his new assignment.
Speaking with journalists, Alhaji Abdulwahid Yabagi thanked all those that grace the occasion and pray Allah to reward them all.
The occasion was attended by Kaduna state comptroller of Nigeria Immigration service, Dahir Lawal, members of Danko development Forum,led by it chairman and Sadaukin Lakwaja, Alhaji Bama Mudi , Retired comptroller of custom, Abubakar Ali Bala, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq of NPA,Lagos .
Others are: Magajin Garin Lakwaja, Khalifa Ibrahim Etsu Shuiabu Kenchi, ki Gudu of Lokoja, Alhaji Maigari Musa Nagidi,Shantalin of Lokoja and Shatima of Lokoja, Alhaji Muhammad mabo Kasim and hosts of others.
