Boat Mishap: NIWA Area Manager Adoga, Reiterates Commitment To Safe

In continuation of his sensation campaign,the Area manager of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Engineer Adoga Titus Samuel on Friday,reiterated the authority’s commitment to safe and secured inland waterways in the area

The area manager stated this while briefing the Rogan of Eggan,HRH. Alhaji Muhammad Umar Alhassan in his office.

Engineer Emmanuel vowed that no stone would be left unturned to secure and avoid the re-occurance of boat mishaps in Lokoja and environs.

He said the safety on riverine communities Waterways remains non-negotiable as the Authority was irrevocably committed to nip in the bud the scourge of boat mishaps.

According to him, mishaps are occasioned by non-compliance with the safety standards by the reckless boat operators and defaulters.

NIWA boss further disclosed that the insights and the ongoing sensation campaign would further help to improve and develop safety in water transport.

He announced that the authority would soon recruit marshals who according to him, would be charged with the responsibilities of overseeing the waterways and the safety of water transportation in the area.

Responding, Rogan of eggan, HRH Alhaji Muhammad Umar Alhassan, expressed gratitude to the area manager for his untired efforts and commitments towards the safety of riverine communities.

The monarch appealed to NIWA to recruit marshals from the community and trained them in their local dilate for effect communications.

The royal father was presented with kits by the Area manager as a mark of honour.
