The member representing Lokoja Kogi/Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Danladi Sulaiman Aguye , has empowered another 500 medium and small scale enterprise and market women in the constituents with N 50,000 each to boost their productivity and income.
Aguye,since assumption of has significantly boosted the local economy by empowering small businesses in his constituents , an important tool that supports them in delivering services to thousand of households in Lokoja and Kogi local areas.
The lawmaker who was represented by the chairman of Lokoja local government,comrade Abdullahi Adamu,on Wednesday disclosed that the empowerment programme is among a series of interventions targeted at improving the livelihoods of his constituents whom he represents in the Green Chambers.
He explained further that Aguye”s empowerment programme which is part of the ongoing effort aimed at improving the livelihoods of his constituents, especially women, girls, medium and small scale enterprises includes, the distribution of cash, sinking of motorised Boreholes and distribution of grinding machines to market women among many.
Aguye affirmed that the decision to support medium and small scale businesses w was informed by the role play in the socioeconomic development of the Constituency.
In his remarks, Chairman of Kogi local government area, Hon. Musa AbdulMalik, said Aguye will continue to prioritise the well-being and welfare of people of his constituents .
