The member representing Lokoja Kogi federal Constituency, Hon. Danladi Sulaiman Aguye on Monday Flagged off the empowerment program in fulfilling the campaign promises to the people of his constituents.
The programme according to the lawmaker, will be in phases was done in collaboration with the Federal college of Horticulture,
Federal Ministry agric and food security and U and S resources,Abuja.
Aguye, was represented by the chairman of Lokoja Local Government council, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu explained that the training is expected to equip them with essential skills in sustainable fish Farming, poultry and goat rearing practices, empowering them to contribute significantly to food security while providing avenues for economic empowerment.
The lawmaker explained further that each beneficiary would receive a token of N50,000 and appealed to them to use the money judicially.
Adamu,who commended Aguye said “The empowerment training on fish, Poultry and goat rearing was chosen for the empowerment and food security “
He maintained that the programme according to him “aligns with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s people oriented policies
While emphasising the importance of supporting women and youths in agriculture to promote food security and economic independence, Aguye said that empowering women and youths means empowering generations.
Addressing the participants, one of the resources person, Alhaji Yusuf Adamu, said the training covers technical aspects of fish farming, includes : breeding, feeding, pest control, and harvesting.
He further added that “participants will also receive guidance on the medicinal and nutritional benefits of these practices, which is in line with the Agency’s expertise in natural food sources for health.”
The event which took place at Reverton Hotel Conference Hall, Lokoja,was witnessed by the Resource Consultants, Lokoja council boss,comrade Adamu Lokoja ,local APC chairman, Hon Maikudi Bature, Councilors,APC leaders among many.
