Students Leadership Of Kogi Tertiary Institutions on Tuesday, passed a vote of confidence on the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The vote of confidence was passed on the governor at a press conference organised by the students in Lokoja.
The National Association of Nigeria Student Chairman JCC, Comrade Gomina Ahmed Kabir, said the decision to pass the vote of confidence on the governor came as a result of his commitment to the educational , security and welfare of Kogi students across the state .
He commended governor ododo’s policies in education, especially the digitalisation of educational sector and urged students to support the administration of the governor.
He pledged their maximum support in the attainment of a better Kogi state of their dream.

Distinguished members of press fellow students ,ladies and gentlemen.
It’s with greet honor and a deep sense of responsibility that we, The leadership of students from tertiary institutions across Kogi State, sit before you today, We have come together to express our support and to pass a vote of confidence on His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi state Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his exceptional contributions towards the development of educational sector and consistent prioritization of students welfare.
Over the past few months, we have witnessed a series of impactful initiatives, policies and projects that directly benefit the students of the state.
His Eecethency’s adminstration has shown an unrelenting commitment to fostering an environment where students can thrive academically ,socially, and professionally.
Among the many laudable achievements of Governor Ododo’s administration,standard out:
i. Increase in Bursary Allowance :The recent increment and digitalisation of bursary payment to Students across Kogs State is a clear indication that ths administration values education and is committed to alleviating the financial burden on students end their families This move provide muct-needed relief and encouragement to students, allowing us to focus more on our academic pursuits.
2 improvement in infrastructure: Under the consolidation leadership of Governor Ododo several Tertiary institution in Kogi State have seen remarkable infrastructural upgrades. From new classroom bocks, lecture halls, and laboratories, road networks to Better equipped libraries, hostels and administrative offices,the improved learning environment has made a significant difference in our academic experiences.
Enhanced Security on Campuses: The safety and security of students have always been a priority for this administration. We appreciate the deliberate steps taken to improve campus security, ensuring that we cam study in a peaceful and safe atmosphere. The installation of security equipment and the deployment of more security personnel across campuses have greatly reduced cases of insecurity, allowing students to focus on their studies without fear.
Support for Technological Advancements and Digital Learning: Recognising the role of technology in modern education, His Excellency has also championed the integration of technology into our educational systems. We have seen increased investment in ICT facilities across campuses, the promotion of digital learning platforms, all of which have enhanced our learning experiences and made education more accessible.
- Commitment to Job creation and Youth Empowerment: Beyond education, Governor Ododo’s administration has been proactive in creating avenues for youth employment and entrepreneurship. The various skills acquisition programs, internships, and empowerment schemes introduced by this government have equipped many of our colleagues with the tools and knowledge to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to society.
- Promoting inclusiveness and Student Participation in Governance: The inclusion of student voices in key decision-making processes has not gone unnoticed. We appreciate the open-door policy of this administration, which has allowed us to engage constructively with government officials on issues affecting students. This has fostered a sense of belonging and encouraged student participation in governance.
- Sustaining the Policy of Free Education at Lower Levels: The decision of the Ododo administration to continue with the lofty initiative of free education and payment of both internal examination fees remains very commendable as it has helped to remove the burden on our parents, thereby helping them
to channel such funds into other things. In light of these accomplishments and many others, we, the students of Kogi State, are proud to stand
firmly behind Governor Alhaji Anmed Usman Ododo. We acknowledge the positive transformation that his administration has brought to our institutions and the broader education sector. His Excellency has demonstrated that he is not only a leader but also a father figure to the students, ensuring that our voices are heard and our needs met.
As we pass this vote of confidence, we also call on our fellow students to continue supporting the administration of Governor Ododo. Let us all play our part in building the Kogi State of our dreams by remaining committed to our studies, participating actively in civic duties, and contributing to the peac and progress of our institutions and our state. As leaders, We must resist every attempt by those who don’t mean well for our state to make us involve in any act capable of halting the wheel of progre steadily grinding in Kogi State.
In conclusion, we express our heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency for his unwavering dedication to welfare of students and the advancement of education in Kogi State. We look forward to even gre | achievements under his leadership and assure him of our continued support.”
